Mike Manos was created in the days when men built things out of metal with brawn. Days when men were men. Days when……..oh wait, this is a bio isn’t it? Mike Manos was born into poverty in a small town called Tupelo, Mississippi in the year 1935. Even at a young age, he discovered his love of music and the odd way some of the songs made his hips move, sometimes uncontrollably.
Fast forward a few years when the family moved to Memphis. Ahh, Memphis! The Bangkok of the Midwest! This is where Mike discovered his true passion, professional wrestling! Following in the footsteps of his masked and sequined hulking heroes, Mike carved out a place for himself in the Mid-South wrestling organization going by the stage name of “The King.”
Success followed and as one thing always leads to another, it was inevitable that Mike would soon find himself in the land of make believe. No, not in Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood, Hollywood! It didn’t take long for Mike to realize that the pursuit of fame in LaLa Land can take a financial toll on you so he took in a couple of roommates in his modest North Hollywood flat to help offset living expenses. Those were heady days indeed! Unfortunately, none of the three ever made it big with rejection after rejection coming after every screen test. Finally, the three agreed to go their separate ways after failing to get work for what seemed as if it were the thousandth time. One thing Mike never understood was, if they weren’t getting work either, how his roommates always seemed to have new cars, clothes and women around…….Even today, Mike would love to know whatever became of that nice boy from Shawnee! What was his name? Brad something or other…….short name…….ahh well. Hopefully he has that night manager’s job at the local Wendy’s like he told Mike he was going after! The other roommate and Mike weren’t as close as he never seemed to take his acting very seriously. Mike just knows that little Leo DiCaprio is surely living in an alleyway somewhere.
Too bad. A string of unsuccessful business ventures followed as his partners assured him that now was the time to get out because NOBODY was going be interested in some freaky website called Google or a strange beverage called Red Bull! As the first decade of the 21st century draws ever closer to an end, Mike Manos is optimistic about his future as well as that of mankind! Oh yeah,
Mike is also the morning show host on Cool 99.3 F.M. as well as program director for Ada Radio Broadcast Group’s 3 stations: Cool 99.3 F.M. KADA, SportsRadio 1230 A.M. KADA, and of course, your home for continuous hit country, 100.1 F.M. KYKC! Mike is also a son, brother, uncle, husband, father and two time grandfather! (and he plays a mean game of tiddlywinks!)
