SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT CONCERING THE KADA HALLOWEEN SAFE HOUSE:
It is with great regret that we have put the annual Halloween Safe House "on hiatus" for this year. Over the years, the price of candy has increased to the point that it became prohibitive for many smaller businesses and civic groups to participate. Add to that, the increased difficulty in getting volunteers to spend Halloween away from families became an issue as well. Our station had to work harder and harder and harder to get booth sponsors, even though there was no other cost associated with participating other than candy and labor. Our station is especially affected this year due to our recent purchase of two other media properties, which has resulted in our own staff being strained to the max, even without the huge amount of work involved with putting on such a large event.
It is our sincere hope and desire, that by taking a year off, we can bring the Halloween Safe House back next year, and it will be bigger and better than ever.
