Born in the year Ronald Reagen won the presidency. Born in the year where "Superman II" came out, and Christopher Reeves was the leading role, when Dolly Parton worked "Nine to Five," and Chevy Chase rocked the house in "Caddyshack." The year "Dallas" fans asked, "Who Shot JR?" The year when Post-It Notes were introduced, and the one and only year The Philadelphia Phillies won a World Series on October 21st. Just ten days later, on Halloween, Amber Taylor came into the world, and her parents didn't know just yet if she was a trick...or a treat. Amber would prove to the world she was a treat, not a trick, and set 1980 as the year that started Amber Taylor.

Amber Taylor was your typcial child growing up, making mud pies, climbing trees, and running over mean boys in her neighborhood with her strawberry shortcake bicycle. Music was always in Amber's blood, her aunts appeared on numerous television shows stealing audiences with their singing voices, and one of her aunts was a disc jokey in the 90s. Amber Taylor was raised by her Mom and Dad with musical talents such as Conway Twitty, George Jones, The Hollies, Elvis, Rod Stewart, Ronnie Milsap, Alabama, the list goes on and on. Worthless hours were spent listening to the radio night after night, instead of quality time on homework, Amber loved music so much. For her 13th birthday, Amber was given her own karaokee machine, a microphone, and told to sing her heart out by her Mom. And, she did. Many nights, Amber's Dad stood outside her bedroom door, howling as loud as he could, as Amber tried to belt out the tunes. A few years later, she also discovered she liked to talk, (a lot) while the music played, and realized Delilah was her hero, and the dream began; Amber Taylor wanted to be a DJ.

Upon high school graduation, as most teenagers do, Amber got off the right path, followed the wrong one, and moved to Pidgeon Ford, Tennessee, and worked on a pickle farm for eight years, but she knew something wasn't quite right when she used the pickles as microphones. After getting fired for pretending she was a DJ on a famous radio show, and using the pickles to talk into, Amber Taylor traveled down one more wrong road, and tried to manage "Elvira's" movie career. This attempt failed greatly, and finally, Amber moved back to Ada, Oklahoma, following her dream to be a real DJ.

Okay, so the pickle farm and Elvira part might be a little far fetched, but Amber did move back to Ada, Oklahoma, after graduating with a broadcasting degree from Oklahoma City, to follow her dream of being a DJ. Here she is, working, and loving every minute with Cool 99.3FM KADA. When Amber Taylor isn't playing the coolest music on the airwaves, she spends time with her Bichon Frise, (yeah, that's a dog) Shelby, watches movies like crazy, plays a mean game of UNO and Canasta, and misses someone she calls Sparky, back in the Oklahoma City area. Plus, she can't decide if she likes being brunette, or blonde, let's hope she just doesn't find out about purple hair dye. One day, she hopes to make it to the ocean. Maybe to live. Maybe to write. Maybe to drown, who knows. Just kidding!

Amber presses on following her dream in the footsteps of her Momma, Susie, who passed away in 2005. Everything Amber does is in honor of her Mother. Amber says in regards to her Mother, "I carry her heart. I carry it in my heart. Wherever I go, she's with me."
Amber will never stop believing in 1 Corinthians 13.
Amber Taylor brings you "treats" every afternoon, she's the afternoon delight for Cool 99.3 FM.
